I Forgive Alex

By Kerascoët

I Forgive Alex follows a playground conflict that begins when Alex accidentally ruins another child’s artwork. Alex recognizes his mistake and apologizes, while the other child works through their hurt feelings and ultimately finds a path toward forgiveness. By showing both perspectives without using words, the story invites children to interpret facial expressions, emotions, and social cues for themselves.

The book offers a natural starting point for conversations about what happens after we hurt someone, intentionally or unintentionally. It reinforces that taking responsibility and making amends are important parts of repairing relationships, while also showing that forgiveness can take empathy and emotional work.
