A Blue Kind of Day

By Rachel Tomlinson
Illustrated by Tori-Jay Mordey

A Blue Kind of Day follows Coen as he experiences a day when everything simply feels blue. His family initially tries different ways to cheer him up, but eventually realizes that what he needs most is time, space, reassurance, and someone willing to listen. The story gives children a compassionate way to understand how depression can feel in the body while helping families recognize the value of listening rather than immediately trying to fix difficult feelings.
